About RetireTally

Retirement rules are full of numbers, limits and exceptions. RetireTally adds them up for you — clearly, with sources.

What we do

We build simple, free calculators and plain-English explanations for common retirement questions. Our first tool is the Social Security earnings test calculator, for people who work while collecting benefits before full retirement age. More tools, articles and a newsletter are on the way, along with an optional paid earnings-test tracker spreadsheet.

How we work

• Every number has a source. Figures come from the Social Security Administration's own website (ssa.gov), and each page links to the pages we used.
• We don't guess. When SSA's rules depend on details we can't know, we say so and point you to SSA.
• We keep it current. SSA updates its limits every year, usually in October. We review our tools when it does.
• Information, not advice. We explain how the rules work. We don't tell anyone what to do with their own benefits, money or taxes.
