Information only. Our tools and articles explain general rules published by SSA. They are not financial, legal, tax or benefits advice, and they don't consider your full situation.
Estimates, not determinations. Calculator results are estimates based on the information you enter and SSA's published rules. SSA alone decides your actual benefits, and its rules have details and exceptions our tools may not cover (for example disability benefits, work outside the U.S., family benefits and special situations).
Verify with SSA. Before acting on anything you read here, check with SSA at ssa.gov, your my Social Security account, or 1-800-772-1213.
Accuracy. We work to keep every figure current and cite its ssa.gov source, but rules and amounts change. We can't guarantee the site is error-free or up to date at all times.

Calculators run in your browser. The numbers you type (birth date, earnings, benefit amount) are processed on your own device. They are not sent to us or stored by us.
No accounts, no ads, no tracking cookies. At launch, RetireTally sets no cookies and uses no advertising or analytics trackers. If that changes, we'll update this page first.
Hosting. Like any website, our hosting provider may process standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Email list. If you sign up, we collect only your email address. Sign-ups are handled by our email provider, Kit (kit.com), and you'll get a confirmation email before you're added. We use your address only to send RetireTally updates, new tools and the tracker announcement. We never sell it, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
Links to other sites. We link to ssa.gov and other sites; their own privacy policies apply there.
